The Faces Behind CBC

Cut Bank Collective was born from a shared passion for the coast and a lifelong friendship between two eastern North Carolina natives, Ward Johnston and Shep Quinn. Our story is rooted in the rich maritime heritage of Carteret County — a place that has shaped our lives and our families for generations.
The name Cut Bank Collective comes from our favorite island — a place we grew up exploring together, spending countless hours on the water, outside, and doing what we love. That island, and everything it represents, is the heart of this brand.
We offer a curated selection of coastal-inspired apparel that captures the local lifestyle we grew up living — from hats and tees to koozies built for a day on the water. And beyond the clothing, CBC is known for its handcrafted sail bags and goods — one of a kind pieces made from real local sails, bringing authentic nautical craftsmanship into everyday life.
At Cut Bank Collective, we believe in building something real. Something rooted in where we come from, made for the people who live this life — and for anyone who's ever felt the pull of the coast. This is more than a brand. This is home.
